Thankyou for giving me early access to this book. This was a great romance. Good writing style and characters in this story.

This book was really good. The best part of it was the authenticity the author brings to mental health and the real life struggles that come along with it. She really captures the feeling of having nothing to feel sad about but still being depressed. The love story was another feather in the cap of a good book. This was a great self discovery novel of coming into your own no matter what others think of it. Definitely a cozy tea and blanket book.

I would highly recommend this fun and heartfelt royalty themed rom-com to any romance lovers. It was so cosy and full of exciting romantic tension, delightful friendships, and funny moments too. It was the perfect rom-com in my opinion, and the mental health representation was amazing to see!

The Kilted Lovers by Megan Clawson was a fun royal romance between a down on her luck Lady Alice and Piper Fraser Bell, who takes his job incredibly seriously.
Alice isn’t acting the way her parents expect. She’s all over the place. Partying, falling in love with an awful man out to get what he can.
As a last resort to manage her behaviour, Alice is sent to Balmoral in Scotland to sort herself out, ready to be a respectable lady she’s expected to be.
Initially, Alice’s character was infuriating. She was childish and immature at times and I couldn’t enjoy the story. Her entitlement and privilege was prevalent throughout, even after she changed by the end of the novel.
Fraser was a quiet character, loyal to his family and his position. Although the relationship between Alice and Fraser was nice to read, it didn’t appear full of chemistry and connection.
Overall, it was an enjoyable read but unfortunately I couldn’t connect to Alice’s character and her privileged outlook.
Thank you for the eARC!

I enjoyed this book about a disgraced princess who is sent to Balmoral Castle in Scotland after a series of bad press in London. Lady Alice also suffers from depression and does not the support she needs from her family. She ends up making friends with Sophie who is a maid at the castle and she ends up being the only real friend Alice has ever had. Alice falls in love with the Piper at the castle but she must work on herself before she can ever be happy.

This wasn't my favourite novel that I have read that being said let's start with the positives. There is great mental health representation in this novel. The heroine suffers from depression. I also like the setting of this novel.

I wanted to love this novel. I just couldn't. I don't know why maybe it was my mood but the characters grated on me and I couldn't enjoy the story.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this arc

Okay, I really loved Kilted Lovers and it was exactly the Scottish escape I needed! This book is like a warm cup of tea on a rainy day - totally comforting but with enough spice to keep things interesting!

The Scottish Highlands backdrop had me ready to book a flight ASAP! And those royal vibes? *chef's kiss* Absolutely delicious! Our main guy being all rugged outdoorsy while our leading lady is... definitely NOT... had me cracking up. The whole "city girl meets mountain man" energy was spot-on and I was living for their banter!

This is my first rodeo with Megan's books and I can't wait to read more from her.

Kilked lovers was a wonderful easy read. I loved the Scottish setting and the romance royal vibes. It was a wonderful take on the opposites attract and the fact the MMC loves the outdoors it just ticked alot of boxes for me.

I love Megan's writing and have read previous books. So it was no surprise to me how much I was lost in the world she created.

I have never read anything by this author, but I will be looking out for other books they write in the future. I really enjoyed the story as well as the pacing of the story.

A fairly quick and easy read, but definitely one of the cutest books I’ve read so far this year. We love a highly themed romance.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books for this e-arc in exchange for my honest review!

This was such a cute and fun read - I really enjoyed how this book by Megan also had such an incredible layer of a mental health representation and how it was made so clear that your own self worth should never be tied into how others see you - I really love that it was a central point!

The setting was beautiful and the characters were all such a delight. It was an easy, quick and fun read.

Ok I did not expect to like this as much as I did. I thought it would just be a cute feel good romcom but I actually loved how much more it was. We meet Lady Alice, who may be initially seen as superficial but I found myself resonating with her so much, who spends her summer away and meets a Jamie Fraser esq character who I just love. The mental health representation was done really well in this with Alice's depression. It showed a character who seemingly had everything but still was depressed and how she struggled with that. I will be recommending this to all of my friends!

In this funny and tropey new romance novel, readers follow Lady Alice Walpole, aristocratic party girl, as she deals with exile at Balmoral Castle in Scotland after one party too far. Surprisingly, Alice loves Scotland, and Piper to the Sovereign Fraser Bell might not be just Alice’s irritating alarm clock every morning. From unlikely backgrounds and totally at odds with each other, Alice and Fraser’s relationship might be doomed from the start, but they are, if nothing else, persistent when they want something. Enjoyable, charming, and romantic, the character dynamics in this novel are absolutely the star of the show, and the character development, particularly for Alice, is engrossing and deeply entertaining. A fun take on the royal romance genre, the modern setting and various obstacles ahead of Alice and Fraser are really well-written and offer them the chance to grow and develop in some important ways. The right mix of charming and spicy, readers will love the tropey elements of Alice and Fraser’s relationship and of their personal growth, and Alice’s friendship with other minor characters allows her to grow as an individual outside her relationship with Fraser. Entertaining and enjoyable, this is a fantastic new romance novel that readers will devour.

I honestly love anything by megan clawson and for me its hard to beat ‘falling hard for the royal guard’ however I think this is also a firm favourite. I loved the characters and how all their lives intertwine by the end. A good read with interesting storylines

I’m not sure what it was about this book but I just couldn’t get into it. I did struggle to finish and I don’t know what it was but I just couldn’t gel with the writing
I found the story hard to connect with, a girl gets sent away, hardly speaks to a boy, kisses him once and falls head over heels. Maybe it’s because I’m not a fan of instant love

I thought that the FMC was very childish and it just felt a little YA for my taste

Megan Clawson’s Kilted Lovers is an absolute charmer of a story. It’s like a rom-com that comes to life as you read it with a perfectly loveable cast of characters.

From the moment Lady Alice Walpole swaps London’s chaos for Balmoral’s peaceful Highlands, the story feels like something made for a movie. I could totally picture the misty mountains, cozy castles, and Fraser Bell (the Sovereign’s Piper) with his quiet charm and kilted flair.
Alice’s journey of self-discovery is heartwarming, and her chemistry with Fraser? Spot-on. Their banter and sweet moments are like the perfect blend of humor and romance that keeps you hooked. Even when you can guess where the story’s headed, it’s so cozy and fun that you don’t mind a bit.

The descriptions of Scotland are stunning, making the whole thing feel like a mini escape to the Highlands. Between the laughs, heartfelt moments, and the feel-good vibes, this book just works. Honestly, if someone made it into a movie tomorrow, I’d be the first to watch.

If you’re into royal romances or need a light, breezy read, with some Scottish flair, Kilted Lovers will definitely hit the spot.

There's so much to love about this book that it's hard to know where to start in my praise for it. It's another sure fire winner from the author of 'Regally Blond".

This story is a little slow to get into at the beginning but stick with it as it's well worth it.
